Description
Daktarin Sugar Free 2% Oral Gel is a white gel with an orange flavour. Daktarin should not be used if the patient has liver dysfunction, is under 4 months or in babies whose swallowing reflex is not yet fully developed (such as babies born prematurely who may not fully develop the swallowing reflex until they are five or six months of age). Daktarin oral gel can increase the anticoagulant effect of warfarin, hence your blood clotting time (INR) should be checked during treatment. Daktarin oral gel should be used with caution in people taking certain medicines for diabetes, such as glibenclamide, gliclazide, glipizide and tolbutamide because it may enhance the blood sugar lowering effect of these medicines. Consult your pharmacist or doctor before using this medicine if you are currently pregnant, likely to get pregnant or breastfeeding. Always read the leaflet. For age 4 to 6 years apply 1.25ml of gel with a clean finger twice daily after meals. Do not apply to the back of the throat. For Adults and children 6 years of age and older apply 2.5ml of gel with a clean finger four times daily after meals. Hold in the mouth as long as possible. Continue treatment for at least one week after symptoms disappear.
